Bill Sharpe, solo artist and part of the band "Shakatak," collaborated with Gary on the song "Change Your Mind" in 1985. Another song he wrote, "New Thing From London Town" appeared on Strange Charm in 1986. In 1989, Change Your Mind, along with an entire albums worth of songs written with Gary was released as "Automatic."
